bennett's second chicago cubs game

So yeah... when you buy $8 tickets online, you can't expect the best view. But that doesn't really matter when you have a one-year-old with you, because you'll mainly be watching them the whole time. We were so far away that we weren't entirely sure that Bennett realized he was at a baseball game, but hey. The Cubs lost. I'd be lying if I pretended to care about that, (other than missing out on singing the fun song at the end), because my real reason for being there was just to have a really fun time, which we did.

For this game, I really toned down my attire. I felt like such an out-of-place hippy nut-job at Wrigley Field last time, being dressed, well, as I normally dress. So this time I actually prepared in advance, and packed an outfit that was as generic and non-me as I could find: jeans and a black t-shirt. Other than the dreads, I fit right in, and I felt much more comfortable. It isn't that I care all too much about "fitting in" simply for fitting in's sake, but when you're a white girl with dreads in the Midwest, you get a lot of looks, and baseball is more fun if you're just watching baseball, and not worrying about being watched.

Look! Generic me! Fitting right in!

This is Bennett's "I want that frozen lemony thing" face.

The other perk of sitting in the nose-bleed section: great work-out.

Yes. Bennett made it on TV again. This time wasn't as big of a deal. The game was over, the crowds were gone, and he was just in the post-game commentary for a few seconds. But really... what are the stinkin' chances? This time he wasn't taken off-guard by the camera in his face and he really hammed it up:

He was in such a goofy mood after the camera guy left.
The next series of funny looks all took place in just a few seconds

Check us out. Totally normal-looking, baseball-game-attending family:

It wouldn't be a Cubs post without a little video. Though you can't ever see Bennett's face, the faces of the kids in the crowd around us are priceless. They were doing little things to entertain him the whole time. It was really sweet. This is what I mean when I say you spend very little time watching the actual game when you go with a one-year-old, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And, oh yeah, it's sideways:

  1. Funny! And yeah, I noticed the difference in your attire between the two games but I hadn't realized it was intentional. I just thought you had a very flexible wardrobe. Cam is a good guy to let you dress however you want to!

  2. To "let me dress..." HAHAHAHAHA! The day Cam puts his foot down on anything NON-germ related is the day. Haha!

  3. Soooo glad you wised up and dressed MORE appropriately becuase I didn't want to hear about the weirdo that went to the Cubs game on our news again! Just kidding-you are so NORMAL but the midwest is pretty "clicky" at times so I can so get what you are saying...
